Winds Across the Prairie - a KU Wind Ensemble concert to benefit CASA

September 10, 2021

Our 2nd annual Winds Across the Prairie benefit concert is scheduled for Fall 2022

CASA was thrilled to partner with Presenting Sponsor Edmonds Duncan Registered Investment Advisors and the KU Wind Ensemble for our inaugural "Winds Across the Prairie" benefit concert to support CASA's work with the most vulnerable children in our community.

Co-sponsored by Renaissance Painting and Lynn Piller, along with Bartlett & West, Steve & Chris Edmonds, Helen Seymour, Mary & Wint Winter and Fairway Independent Mortgage Corp., the event was held on Friday, September 10th. Attendees enjoyed gourmet farm to table picnic baskets including champagne, salads, cheese, bread, entrée and dessert by Evan Williams Catering.

The 60-member University of Kansas Wind Ensemble, conducted by director of bands Paul W. Popiel, performed selection of American orchestral favorites, including an exquisite "Concerto for Clarinet" by Artie Shaw, that ended with a moving rendition of "Home on the Range" with the audience singing along under a gorgeous Kansas sunset.

CASA is currently seeking sponsors for our 2022 concert. Please contact Sarah Hoadley at shoadley@dccasaks.org for more information or to be added to a list to hear about pre-sale tickets for this year's event.
