About Douglas County CASA

Our mission is to recruit, train, and support volunteers to advocate for children under the protection of the court who have experienced abuse and neglect with the goal of strengthening families in Douglas County, Kansas.

Every year more than 140 children ages 0-18 in Douglas County are removed from their homes and placed under court protection for their own safety. Some of these children are victims of violence, psychological torment, and sexual abuse…

Volunteers are the driving force behind CASA and directly impact the lives of children in Douglas County. Dozens of children enter the child welfare system in our area every year, but we do not currently have enough volunteers to support each of them. By volunteering your time and skills, you will be actively improving the lives of children in Douglas County, and uplifing our community as a whole.
