A Community Forum will be held at the Lawrence Public Library on January 30 @ 5:30 p.m. to raise community awareness about unnecessary incarcerations.
Racial disparity is one problem to be addressed - 1 in 3 black males in Douglas County have been booked into the jail. Mental illness for those incarcerated is also a continuing problem.
Attend to receive 1.5 hours of continuing education credits.
